The music of revolutionary tango master Astor Piazzolla has enjoyed a resurgence of popularity in the last few years. Piazzolla's music is passionate, exciting, sensual and filled with yearning. He is also renowned for combining musical styles (classical, jazz, traditional), into a seamless fusion. Argentinean by birth, Astor Piazzolla's music integrates aspects of all the cities in which he lived, including New York, Paris, Rome and most importantly Buenos Aires.
The Macquarie Trio, trio-in-residence at Sydney's Macquarie University, imbues a classical salon feel to these timeless Piazzolla works, in arrangements made especially for the group by Quentin Grant.
