Christopher Hogwood leads the Academy of Ancient Music and soloists Emma Kirkby (soprano), Anthony Rolfe Johnson (tenor) and Michael George (bass) in this original-instrument performance from the beautiful cathedral of Gloucester in the West of England.

Haydn's musical vision of the Creation begins with the famous orchestral explosion 'Let There Be Light' and goes on to tell the biblical story of Adam and Eve.

This performance of The Creation is sung in the original English (written before the German version Die Schopfung).
